A suicide bomber blew up a car in Egypt's Sinai, killing four security officers and wounding four others, the Interior Ministry said Thursday.

The blast is the latest in a string of attacks against government forces in the lawless area.

Egypt has been wracked with persistent tension since the military ousted the democratically elected president, Mohamed Morsy, in a coup.
