Jolie-Pitt family Christmas vacation! Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt treated their six kids to a boat ride in Queensland, Australia on Monday, Dec. 23. The family of eight were photographed soaking up the sun while cruising around Coomera River.

Jolie, 38, and Pitt, 50, appeared to enjoy some snacks in the back of the boat with their children Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, 8, Shiloh, 7, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 5. Once the boat was docked, the 12 Years a Slave actor went shirtless while playing on the beach with his brood.

Pitt celebrated his 50th birthday on Dec. 18, and a source told Us Weekly he may not have been too happy about reaching the milestone. "He really doesn't want to talk about his birthday much," the insider told Us. "Brad said he's going to celebrate his birthday this weekend in Australia. That's going to be the only thing he does."

The Jolie-Pitt family won't be celebrating the holidays at home this year. "They're used to celebrating wherever they're working," an insider told Us.

For the past couple months, Pitt has been filming Fury in the U.K. while Jolie has been directing Unbroken in Australia. "They meet as often as they can," a source said. "They don't want to spend too much time apart!"

Old feuds die hard, but Mariah Carey and Eminem never quite made up. The rapper, now 41, famously claimed that he and the "Art of Letting Go" singer hooked up after meeting in 2001. Carey's pointed response on the matter was her 2009 smash "Obsessed," which inspired a video that featured Carey in male drag as, presumably, Eminem himself.

On the Sunday, Dec. 22 episode of Watch What Happens Live!, Andy Cohen broached the topic to the diva herself during a round of "Plead the Fifth" -- asking Carey to say three nice things about Emimen.

Her response was sweetly sarcastic. "They come in a package that you can carry wherever you go. People love them around the world, and they're tasty. You can have peanut or the regular kind," Carey sniped.

"Oh my god, I love it!" a gleeful Cohen replied.

The Grammy winning star further asserted herself as the "original" diva -- claiming that her fans named themselves "lambs" before other unnamed divas (ahem, Lady Gaga's Little Monsters) nicknamed their own contingencies.

"I would never be so presumptuous as to name people," she sniffed.

The mom to 2-year-old twins also revealed that she and husband Nick Cannon won't be adding to their brood -- ever. "Here's the thing," Carey explained. "I'm responsible for the kids for like forever. They didn't ask for this lifestyle but here they are."

Oh, to be young again -- and exhausted? Jamie Lynn Spears is on the comeback trail, and the hectic schedule is already getting to her! The 22-year-old younger sister of Ms. Britney Spears is already whupped from promoting her new country single "How Could I Want More."

"Who worked all day??? In bed after a long, but successful day in #nyc!!" the country crooner wrote via Instagram on Thursday, Dec. 19. "So thankful for every person I met, and every place I visited!! And for my AMAZING team and band!!! Goodnight!! #blessed." 

Alongside the caption, Spears shared a personal (yet adorable!) black and white picture of herself lying in bed next to her sleeping, and shirtless fiance Jamie Watson. Spears announced she got engaged to her boyfriend of three years via Twitter in March.

Spears has been busy since releasing her new tune in November. (She took a five-year break from showbiz after having her daughter Maddie, 5, with ex-fiance Casey Aldridge.) The former Nickelodeon star has been promoting her track in the Big Apple, and has brought Watson, 30, along for the press tour. On Thursday, Dec. 19, Spears performed the single on the Today show. Katy Perry may have been living off Flamin' Hot Cheetos and alcohol for the first couple of weeks following her split from ex-husband Russell Brand, but she sobered up -- in more ways than one -- soon after. During an interview for the Friday, Dec. 20, episode of Alan Carr: Chatty Man, the 29-year-old "Roar" singer revealed she went through a booze-free detoxing period as part of her healing process in the wake of her divorce.

"You know, I did a lot of different things," she told Carr, according to the Daily Mail. "I surrounded myself with my good friends, I did this whole cleanse where I didn't have any alcohol for three months -- that was devastating -- I did vitamins and supplements, and hikes and meditation and prayer."

Ultimately, there wasn't any one particular thing that helped her move on. "I think at the end of it all, as much as the things I did, I think there was something cosmically happening that was looking out for me in some ways," she said. "But I was putting my best positive foot forward."

That positivity didn't come easy, though. "It's fun to laugh at it now. It wasn't fun to laugh at it then," the "Who You Love" songstress told Carr. "You know, I was going through a period where a lot of negative thoughts were entering my mind. Obviously they did not succeed, but I had my confidence kind of beaten down."

That period of her life -- and how she bounced back -- inspired her new album, Prism. "It's a record of me going inside, and [doing] a lot of self-reflection, and figuring out, like, 'Where can I make areas of myself better, or what responsibility can I take?'" she explained. "Rather than pointing the finger and saying, 'You're the problem,' or 'You're the reason for all my problems,' or 'You're awful; my life is awful,' I go, 'Okay, how can I fix this?' So yeah, it was not fun."Perry has come a long way since then. She's now in a long-term relationship with fellow musician John Mayer, her duet partner on "Who You Love."

"We have a lot of fun," she told Ellen DeGeneres of their relationship on Dec. 20. "We have music as an understanding and love between each other and we connect. It's like he understands what I do because he does the same thing. And so after a long day, if it's been tough, I don't really have to go into it. He just gets it. So it's nice with that understanding."

Khloe Kardashian might just have a merry Christmas after all. The 29-year-old reality star appeared to be in great spirits on Thursday, Dec. 19, despite having filed for divorce from estranged husband Lamar Odom just one week earlier.

Though she kept her eyes hidden behind a pair of green-mirrored aviator sunglasses, the newly single former X Factor host flashed a wide smile as she did some Christmas shopping at Barneys New York and Maxfield in Beverly Hills, Calif. She was dressed casually for the outing in black capri leggings, a black top, and a black jacket.

Kardashian has been spotted out and about several times since she filed to end her four-year marriage to Odom on Friday, Dec. 13. Earlier this week, she stepped out wearing a black hoodie with the words "Nothing Was the Same" written across her chest.

According to court documents, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for her split from the basketball player. The two had been estranged for some time, at least in part due to revelations about Odom's drug use.

"I am strong because I've been weak," she shared on Instagram just hours before she filed for divorce. "I am fearless because I've been afraid. I am wise because I've been foolish."

Following her big night out in NYC on Thursday -- which included a Brooklyn show and album release party -- the "XO" singer, 32, scurried off to Massachusetts and completely ambushed Walmart shoppers on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.

Calling it a day. Tom Cruise has dropped his $50 million lawsuit against Life & Style's publisher, the Hollywood Reporter confirms. The dispute came to an end in a California federal court on Friday, Dec. 20.

Cruise, 51, initially sued Bauer Media Group back in October 2012 after one of its magazines, Life & Style, claimed the Oblivion actor had "abandoned" Suri, his now 7-year-old daughter with ex-wife Katie Holmes.

The claim arose after Cruise and Holmes, 35, famously ended their five-year marriage in June 2012. During the one-year court battle, Cruise asked for details about the tabloid's sources behind their story.

"Tom doesn't go around suing people," his attorney, Bert Fields, said in October 2012. "He's not a litigious guy. But when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you bet he's going to sue."

Fields added at the time to THR: "Tom is going to want to push this one all the way."

US judge strikes down Utah's gay marriage ban

"The state's current laws deny its gay and lesbian citizens their fundamental right to marry and, in doing so, demean the dignity of these same sex couples for no rational reason," he said on Friday. "Accordingly, the court finds that these laws are unconstitutional." The ruling was a major victory to gay rights activists in the conservative state where the Mormon church wields considerable influence. It also marks an ongoing nationwide shift towards allowing gay marriage. Neighbouring New Mexico became the 17th US state to legalise same-sex marriage on Thursday. Impromptu weddings Salt Lake County Deputy Clerk Dahnelle Burton-Lee said the district attorney authorised her office to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Friday. A festive atmosphere broke out in the county government building that played host to a string of impromptu weddings - including that of a state senator to his longtime partner. But a spokesman for the state's Attorney General's office said lawyers would seek an emergency stay of the judge's order while the office appealed to a higher court. "I am very disappointed an activist federal judge is attempting to override the will of the people of Utah," said Utah Governor Gary Herbert. "I am working with my legal counsel and the acting attorney general to determine the best course to defend traditional marriage within the borders of Utah." Marriage laws are governed by individual US states, nearly 30 of which have amended their constitutions to ban same-sex marriage. Efforts to give same-sex couples the same rights as heterosexuals have gathered steam in recent years. One of the most important victories came in June when the US Supreme Court struck down the Defence of Marriage Act, which defined marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

A Libyan security official, speaking to the AFP news agency on condition of anonymity, said on Friday that "unknown assailants opened fire at Colonel Fethallah al-Gaziri... and killed him." The official said al-Gaziri was in Derna for the marriage of a niece. His bullet-riddled body was taken to Derna hospital. No group immediately claimed responsibility for al-Gaziri's killing. Libya has witnessed a string of assassinations and bombings since former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was toppled in 2011. In most cases, the government has been unable to identify the assailants. Derna is known as a stronghold of Ansar al-Shariah, a hardline group suspected to have been behind the September 11, 2012, attack on the US consulate in Benghazi that killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. Much of recent violence and lawlessness in Libya has been blamed on heavily armed militias with roots in the 2011 war. They have undermined successive transitional governments and parliament, but the government also relies on many of them to provide security in the absence of a functioning police force.

The Famous 112 year old Apollo Theater in London yesterday was thrown into total chaos as the ceiling in the theater gave way during a major performance. The theater was packed full as people came out in the yuletide spirit to see the play 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time'.

While performance was going on, cracking sound was first heard from the balcony and it progressed into the ceiling, and then came crumbling down on the people in the theater. Police say a total of 88 people were injured with seven of them in critical state.

One person who witnessed the incident, Mr Anjarwalla said "I was in the upper circle with another family when, about 45minutes in, people started shouting and screaming. We thought it was part of the play".

Well, we already know she can rock a white dress! Pippa Middleton -- who very nearly stole the spotlight from sister Kate Middleton at her wedding to Prince William in 2011 -- is set to walk down the aisle herself in 2014, sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly.

The British event planner's boyfriend, banker Nico Jackson, popped the question during their early December trip to India's Oberoi Amarvilas, insiders share. (Oberoi Amarvilas is a five-star resort, with views of the famed Taj Mahal.)

"It was exactly how he planned it," one source tells Us of the proposal. "Very romantic and grand!"

Together for 15 months, the couple were first rumored to be engaged back in September. Those rumors were false, but the two were clearly smitten. They even engaged in some PDA at the 50th anniversary party for Annabel's nightclub on Sept. 27. Meet Pippa's previous boyfriends.

Since the engagement, Middleton, 30, and Jackson, 36, have been celebrating their happy news in private. A source says they plan to spend Boxing Day (Dec. 26) at her family's Bucklebury estate before heading to the Alps for vacation in the new year.

Meadow Walker has made her first public appearance since her father, Paul Walker, passed away on Nov. 30. The 15 year old attended the world premiere of Justin Bieber's latest documentary, Believe, in L.A. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, a rep for the event confirms to Us Weekly.

Meadow, the late actor's only child with ex-girlfriend Rebecca McBrain, skipped the red carpet and managed to avoid photographers during her night out at the Regal Cinemas in downtown L.A. (E! News was first to report the story.) Other young Hollywood kids also in attendance at the Clearasil Superfruit sponsored premiere included Kylie Jenner, Jaden Smith, Kiernan Shipka, Debby Ryan, Gabby Douglas and others.

A private funeral was held for the Fast and Furious actor at Forest Lawn Cemetery in L.A. on Saturday, Dec. 14. "It was a really sad day for so many people, and you could tell they just weren't ready to say goodbye," the eyewitness told Us Weekly of the somber affair. "His parents were there, along with his brothers and some other family members. Everyone was hugging each other tight and didn't want to let go."

Paul and his friend, Roger Rodas, died in a fiery car crash while riding in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT on Nov. 30. The Hours star's father, Paul Walker III, told reporters earlier this month that Meadow was taking her father's death "really tough," but shared, "She has family around her and some very, very loving friends. They're all close. There's a lot of hugging, a lot of hand-holding."

Selener's are just going to have to wait until next time. Selena Gomez has canceled her upcoming Australian tour, the 21-year-old singer announced Thursday, Dec. 19.

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," Gomez said in a statement. "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

She continued: "To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me."

A source tells Us Weekly some rest is much needed for the young star. "She has been working nonstop for six years," an insider explains to Us. "She needs to take some time for herself. It was a very hard decision because she hates disappointing fans but she needs to focus on her for a bit. She wants to stay healthy."

Gomez most recently performed at the 2013 Jingle Ball in NYC on Friday, Dec. 6. During her performance, the "Come & Get It" songstress became agitated when her audio and mic malfunctioned. After dropping the f-bomb and promising two songs, Gomez then walked off stage after only performing one more.

"Sorry, the sound isn't working!" she said at the time. "Are you guys having a good night? I promise, a lot cooler people are gonna come out tonight."

Tragedy has struck The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Marine Brandon McGraw died last weekend during an Australian trip his wife, Cherilyn McGraw, won on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show last January, TMZ reports.

The North Carolina residents redeemed the trip to Australia last week and went skydiving together on Saturday, Dec. 14. According to TMZ, Cherilyn made a tandem jump while Gunnery Sgt. Brandon, who was experienced, followed behind her solo.

An employee at the skydiving school told TMZ that Brandon's parachute caused him to veer suddenly right and left before crashing to the ground at approximately 300 feet. Brandon was pronounced dead at the scene.

UPDATE: DeGeneres released the following statement to Us Weekly on Thursday, Dec. 19:  "I've been speaking with Cherilyn. And my staff has been in touch with her as well. She's asked us to help keep this private as she tries to deal with this unimaginable tragedy. I hope everyone respects that."

TMZ reports that Cherilyn shared a picture of her husband from inside the plane before his jump flashing a big smile at the camera. "My hero. My angel," she captioned the snapshot. "These are truly such symbolic photos. He was happy and doing what he loved."

The Daily News reports that Brandon was 33 years old.
