Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders’ have concluded their meeting on Indonesian island Bali, after extensive discussion on issues related to the region’s growth.
After two rounds of retreat sessions, APEC leaders reached consensus on issues such as promoting a thriving multilateral trading system, and building better connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region. As well as attaining the Bogor Goals of open and free trade in 2020. The leaders agreed that boosting multilateralism will bring great benefit to APEC economies. And at the end of the meeting they issued a joint declaration.
They also took the annual family photo wearing traditional clothing - this year, it was the Balinese woven "endek". As the highest-level meeting of the APEC, the informal economic leaders’ meeting has been held annually since its first convention in Seattle, the United States, in November 1993. It will be held in Chinese capital Beijing next year, while China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will host the APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting.
